It was interesting to read this, as Tom was a longtime friend of mine. I spent many evenings with him at Musso’s (he always sat at Manny’s end of the counter, and usually ordered Romaine w/Roquefort and French Lamb Chops…….rare)

He loved Au Petite Cafe and spoke of it often. As a matter of fact, when I moved to LA in the late 60’s, it was my first experience with really terrific French food.

Tom was a wonderful dining companion, and he spoke kindly of you often.

I live in Seattle and go back to Thailand every winter. I just found out about Khun Churn in Ekamia and whenever I could, I ate there and told all my non vegetarian friends to come with me and they all love it!!
I couldn’t say enough about this place. I am a vegetarian and I think this is the best vegetarian restaurant ever, ambiance and all.

i am a strict vegetarian.. and i always have problems eating in THAILAND.. but i have found this JEWEL of a place.

the food is AMAZING.. and the choice UNBELIEVABLE..

this has to be my best ever food that i have ever eaten..

…considering their price point, ranking and positioning, it was an extremely disappointing experience eating at Philippe LA. The service was disorganized and substandard and taste / quality was below expectation. I will not recommend nor revisit them again. Someone at ZAGAT is way off !?

Certainly the family’s Sonoma Winemaker, Gina Gallo, should have known what Pinot Noir tasted like even if she had not married Jean-Charles Boisset. Meanwhile, E&J Gallo keeps pumping out Thunderbird and Night Train Express for those with no taste buds whatsoever.

Hi, to answer your question, that green leaf was called ‘Mieng Kam’ in Thai. It is a traditional Thai appetizer. I went to this restaurant once. They gave this appetizer as a complementary when we first seated.

We really love this restaurant. Nice location, great atmosphere and of course splendid taste! Such a great experience. I will surely find time to go there again.

I agree. I discover the place during the Olympc Games. They hosted a Michelin star chief invited by a French wine importer, Le Baron.
By the way, concerning the wines, I really recommend to order at http://www.lebaronwine.cn. They just focus on high quality French wine and their selection is really good.

I agree with both comments, Tishman, Gerry Speyer and son are the worst new York citizens. throwing people out of there apt, and also making decisions, throwing people out of work, Rainbow Room is a big excample. My New Years wish is that they be kicked out of there company.

GREED is the cause of the closing of New York most beautiful Room! Caused by Gerry Speyer ,in this economic climate his greed over took his human need to keep the establishment open ,and his ego of ruling NYC commercial Real Estate got in his way .His other holdings are proving just that.The Rockefeller ’s need to take some kind of control back and let there compassion for people and their Legacy live on in their tradition. It is sad real sad. Where is NBC ,CBS,ABC on this issue of putting real New Yorker’s back to work even CNN.
